Though Amutat HALEVAV is a young organization, it has its roots in years
of dedicated hard work by Tzfat residents who envisioned and worked
towards a healthier, more beautiful and ecologically sustainable city.
People who had been working independently—teaching yoga, planting gardens,
picking up litter— came together to discuss how to work towards their
common goals, and gradually the Center for Healthy Living (Amutat Halevav)
was born.
Amutat HALEVAV was founded by people who believe that Tzfat has the
potential to be a model of beauty, co-existence, creativity, and
sustainable prosperity. "Healthy Living" is seen in a holistic way,
including health of body, mind and spirit; individual, community and
nature.
Through its diverse programs, Amutat HALEVAV seeks to serve a bridge
between diverse parts of the Tzfat population, for the benefit of all.
Amutat Halevav is not affiliated with any political or religious group.
With the general philosophy of tikkun olam ("fixing the world"), Amutat
HALEVAV has as its organizational goals:
• To transform Tzfat into a sustainable city that supports the physical,
mental, emotional and spiritual health and wellness of its individuals,
communities and environment.
• To promote by example and opportunity for direct experience active
participation in and responsibility for the environmental and personal
health of the community.
